Anthony Bourdain, chef, and writer, dined in Berlin with Ellen Allien in his latest episode of a culinary travel show. His death last Friday is still fresh on the minds of many, he was found in France where he was filming an episode for CNN’s Parts Unknown.
Bourdain was impressed by the creative soul of the city of Berlin
The season’s sixth episode focuses on the illustrious city of Berlin, specifically highlighting the city’s emphasis on creatives across artists and musicians. During his trip to Berlin, Bourdain spoke with Anton Newcombe, frontman for the rock band Brian Jonestown Massacre, Anthony Bourdain also sat with Berlin native, Ellen Allien for dinner at Michelberger.
Berlin, a city that has been ravaged by the war and the past, but that now has a vibrant creative scene showcasing the best in people. Arts at every corner, creative people on every street, Berlin is really a unique place, also in Bourdain’s opinion.
Over the kitchen, the food and the traditional German meals like the curry sausage, the braised beef, and the Berlin potatoes, Bourdain understood about the unique affordability that Berlin offers to the creatives, making it a standout against other European destinations. Again, Berlin is the place to be.
