Berlin public transport strike on Friday
On Friday, public transport throughout the city will be extremely restricted due to a strike by the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG). The city buses, underground trains and trams will be affected. The trade union Verdi has called for work stoppages from the start of operations (3:30 a.m.) until 12:00 noon. The S-Bahn in Berlin, which is the suburban rail and part of Deutsche Bahn, will not be affected.
The bus lines TXL, X9, 128 and 109 will not operate at Tegel airport until noon. Passengers from Schönefeld should switch to the S-Bahn in Berlin and regional trains operated by Deutsche Bahn. Travellers are asked to allow more time for their journey to the airports and to switch to other means of transport if necessary.
