Cycling under the underground viaduct, sitting at the river bath, living in Gesundbrunnen: Three Berlin projects are funded with federal funds for urban planning.
With just under nine million euros, the federal government promotes urban development projects in Berlin. This includes a test track for the fast bike path under the elevated viaduct of subway line U1. For around 2.16 million euros from the “National Urban Development Projects” funding program, a 200-meter real-life laboratory is being set up to test in practice how a high-speed connection between Kreuzberg and Schöneberg could look like. With the program for urban development projects, the Federal Ministry of Building supports projects that promise particularly high national and international attention and show great innovation potential.
