Two times a year, at the Berlin Fashion Week, fashion-lovers, buyers, trade visitors and media representatives meet for shows and awards, find out about latest collections and trends at the trade fairs, visit exhibitions and off-site events.
Every Season, Berlin is showing its innovative fashion side and presenting the latest trends
The Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises has been supporting the fashion industry since 2007 with an annual budget of up to one million euros and a portfolio of comprehensive steps. Each year, at least eight fashion shows of labels from Berlin are financed.
Since 2013 labels from Berlin show their collections at Berlin Showroom – a platform initiated by the Senate Department of Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises to help designers distributing their collections in foreign countries as France (Paris) and USA (New York).
Since 2015, the #FASHIONTECH Berlin has been a strong part of the Berlin Fashion Week and was launched by the Premium Group as a conference on the digitization of the fashion industry. Right time, right place: Since the conference started, it has enjoyed an increasing number of visitors and has brought national and international experts to the stage as well as professionals of the industry.
After only a few seasons, the Berlin Fashion Week has over 200,000 trade visitors, over 70 fashion shows in the Frame of Berlin Fashion Week and numerous Exhibition platforms, receptions and showrooms in established the top 5 fashion locations worldwide. The Fashion Week attracted around 200,000 visitors in 2016, the additional economic power of around 120 Millions of euros per season brought to Berlin.
Green Fashion, Upcycling and Fashion Tech are becoming increasingly important: more and more Berlin fashion labels take into account in the production ecological standards. The Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show, as well as the big one’s Trade fairs, show numerous brands of the Eco portfolio.
