Usually, when you stay in town (of course, also in the Berlin metropolitan city) for only a few days, you tend to keep some promotional card for transportation, a more than optimal solution that also includes the delivery of the transport map.
Free underground map at every U-Bahn station. It’s BVG present
If, however, the stay is a longer period of time, you end up having to opt for solutions that can go from the daily ticket to the monthly subscription. In those cases (especially if you buy tickets at automatic machines!), it is difficult to provide a map of transport, but not desperate because every metro station in Berlin is also provided, you only need to know where to look for it.
In fact, here you will find no special dispensers containing maps such as in London, Paris, Rome or other European big cities, but in Berlin we find it in the inside of the monthly magazine published and distributed free of charge by BVG and called PLUS.
So look for it at the entrance to the underground station or in the long columns along the tracks, open it and you will find the map in the middle of the magazine. It’s also comfortable to detach and to carry around with you to discover the city.
