MEETING at Hamburger Bahnhof – Students Explain Art

Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin

On Saturday, the 26 January 2019, from 2–6 pm, the MEETING will take place at Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin. Students are inviting visitors to discover new perspectives into the works at Hamburger Bahnhof.

Around 80 students from various disciplines have been involved in ABOUT THE MUSEUM this winter semester, a project on the collections and exhibitions at Hamburger Bahnhof. In teams with varying focal points, they dealt with the basics of art education and developed their own perspectives on the works exhibited. They were supported by artists, educators specialising in art and culture, as well as the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin’s staff in the department of Education, Outreach and Visitor Services.

At the MEETING students will be presenting the results of their efforts. In exhibition talks, artistic interventions and participative educational activities together with visitors they are dedicating themselves to the works, approaching them from different and often surprising angles.

Participation is free for students.

For more information about the project and the full programme see: https://www.smb.museum/en/education-and-outreach/students.html and our Facebook page ABOUT THE MUSEUM.

ABOUT THE MUSEUM is funded by the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, the main sponsor of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
