Air Berlin: talks continue with Easyjet for airline leasing

“We are dealing with Easyjet,” said an Air Berlin spokesman. Easyjet confirmed Friday that it would be interested in purchasing up to 25 aircraft.

German airline Lufthansa, for its part, will recapture most of its insolvent rival: for 210 million Euros it will detect 81 of the 140 Air Berlin aircraft and will employ 3,000 of the over 8,000 employees. Air Berlin last year recorded a loss of approximately 782 million euros and has debts of nearly 1.2 billion euros.
