One of the best travel memories you can take home from Berlin is undoubtedly a vintage strip of black and white photos taken in a Photoautomat. 2 euros, 5 minutes and a strip of 4 photos in different poses (alone or in crowded with the travelling companions) is brought to you.
You can’t leave Berlin without a Photoautomat shot
As a pause during the walks to discover the beauties of the city or at dawn returning from an evening in the lively nightlife of the Berlin’s underground, the choice is yours, Photoautomat is definitely an incredibly romantic thing.
Do not be discouraged by what characterizes them, a vintage look, with graffiti, sometimes unkempt to seem almost out of order, they work great and will give you fun and a fantastic memory of this creative city!
Thanks to two Berliners, who have had the brilliant idea of bringing these vintage photo booths to Berlin and have scattered them in any particular places around the city. It will be impossible that you do not come across a photo automatic machine during your tours to discover the city, but in case you decide to do even a city tour based on the installation points of the Photoautomat, you can find useful the map that shows the points where they were located.
The phenomenon of Photoautomat has become so popular that several public exercises have been inspired to create them, placing them on their premises to make their environments more fun for customers. Clothing stores, Späti, bars and tobacconists have made these machines available (not all of them have the word Photoautomat!) to the delight of adults, children and couples in love.
The project was so appreciated that, as you can see from the official site, you can now find these vintage photo cabins in several other German and European cities.
