Tempelhofer Feld is the largest park in Berlin and the one with a more particular landscape, in fact, it differs from any other park in the city for its history and for its structure because it having been an airport until 2008.
Tempelhofer Feld. Why Berliners love it so much?
Tempelhofer Feld is a park that offers wide open spaces where Berliners love to spend their free time practising many different activities. This place is very nostalgic and serene, it holds a lot of the history of Berlin city.
The former runways and landing pads for aeroplanes now offer long routes on which you can practice sports, running, skating, cycling, skateboarding, windskating, unicycles, or anything else that rolls or slides… …and whatever may arise from the creativity of the inhabitants of this amazing city.
“Great place for a stroll and some people watching”
This alternative park also offers spaces for those who want to spend a day or even just a few hours to relax enjoying the green spaces, relaxing on its green lawns, maybe to catch some rays of sun admiring the skyline of the city that stands on the horizon, or following the flight of a few kites that boys enjoy hovering in the sky. Anyway, you can sit among the art installations in the community gardens sipping some drinks purchased from the trucks always present on the central airport runway or just relaxing on the beer garden deck chairs.
“Great public space for cycling, skating, boarding and running”
Tempelhofer Feld park always offers some surprises, a celebration and or a competition or a particular fair, sometimes organized in advance and sometimes organized so surprisingly.
“Enjoy beer and food in a huge open space near a powerful historical landmark”
This park has also not yet finished offering entertainment, in fact inside it, in special areas, it is possible to make barbecues and picnics.
The opening times of the park and beer garden are regulated according to the season so it is good to consult the site of the park before organizing a day in this place.
